Following February 14’s Pulwama attack that killed more than 40 CRPF soldiers, the Indian government and cricketing board, BCCI, had spoken about holding those who were responsible, accountable. Therefore, BCCI had requested to the ICC to ban Pakistan from all cricketing ties and were mulling to boycott them at the 2019 World Cup.
Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is Pakistan’s T20 cricket league, had also seen broadcasters pull out of their deals, leaving them helpless.
However, as ICC has refused to take any such action to ban nations, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now invited the BCCI and other cricketing boards to watch the PSL 2019 final, which will take place on March 17. In addition, the PCB has also sent a letter to the ICC chairman Shashank Manohar.
It doesn’t seem likely, however, that BCCI is going to accept the invitation.
