The game of cricket has evolved quite a bit from the good old days from the players wearing helmets and caps to helmets and pads. Protective gears are considered crucial to avoid cases of injuries and sometimes, death. However, one person who is always in the line of fire and is never given any protective gear is the bowler.
The past week saw Bengal cricketer Ashok Dinda take a hit to his face during a practice match after which he was taken off the field and advised a two-day rest.
Addressing the issue, Team India bowlers Jaydev Unadkat called for a protective face-mask for bowlers as well.
