The body recovered from the plane of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson on Thursday has been officially identified as that of the footballer’s.
The plane was found 67 metres underwater, 21 miles off the coast of Guernsey in the English Channel, with a body still present in the aircraft’s fuselage. The body was recovered on Thursday and was sent for examination and identification.
After the body was identified as that of Emiliano Sala’s, the families of both the men (Sala and the pilot) were informed. Cardiff City said in a statement, “We offer our most heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of Emiliano. He and David will forever remain in our thoughts.”
