‘It’s 2019, come on guys,’ Paul Pogba slams racism in football

A huge number of disappointing cases of racism have been surfacing in football, with the recent cases of Everton fans booing Manchester City player Raheem Sterling and West Ham fans racially abusing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah being some glaring examples.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba referred to these instances and revealed that it was the reason behind him wearing a black and white band on his wrist – to pronounce equality.

The French national said, “I put the white and black on (my wrist) for racists. It’s 2019, come on guys. You hear all this booing and that sort of stuff, so it is about giving support.”
