Lionel Messi wins penalty kick, gives it to Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has once again managed to win a million hearts with his kind gesture on the field, that once again proved how great a leader the Argentine is.

During the 2nd leg of the Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla on Thursday, Lionel Messi had won a penalty kick, which he offered to the Barca newcomer and former Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho to take.

The scoring was opened with that penalty kick in the 14th minute as Barcelona went on to pile six goals on Sevilla, the last one of which was scored by Messi in the added minutes. After winning the match 6-1, Messi explained why he offered the penalty kick to Coutinho and said, “He took one against Levante and he wanted to take it. We spoke about it, he took it and I’m happy because that’s where everything started.”

The 26-year-old Brazilian also thanked Messi, and said, “The penalty has come naturally. Leo’s gesture shows how great it is. Thanks to Leo, for letting me kick the penalty, that’s good for the confidence of the group.”
