Shikhar Dhawan, Kuldeep Yadav shine bright as India beat New Zealand in 1st ODI by 8 wickets

India’s tour of New Zealand started with the 1st ODI of the five-match series on Wednesday at Napier, which was marked by Kuldeep Yadav’s excellent 4-wicket haul, a sun-outrage stopping the play in the middle and Shikhar Dhawan scoring an unbeaten 75 to help the Men in Blue go one-up (in that order) in the series.

New Zealand had won the toss and after opting to bat, were wrapped at a low total of 157 by the Indian bowling attack which comprised of Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kedar Jadhav.

NZ captain Kane Williamson was the top-scorer for the hosts with 64, while Mohd. Shami was awarded the Man of the Match for his three-wicket haul.
