The fact that the national Indian football team is slated to play a historic friendly match against China has been making waves in Indian football news for a while now. Indian ace striker Jeje Lalpekhlua, spoke about the upcoming clash and said that although the India vs China football match will set the pace right for the Indian team to get prepared before they enter the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, the clash will certainly be a “tricky” one.
Speaking about the India vs China football match on the sidelines of the two-day preparatory camp in New Delhi, Jeje Lalpekhlua, who has won the I-League with Mohun Bagan and the Indian Super League (ISL) with Chennaiyin FC, said, as reported in Indian football latest news by the AIFF,
“I think this game is going to be very tricky. In order to accelerate our preparation for the Asian Cup, we need to play such game. However, we’re going to learn quite a few things from this game and we’re looking forward to it.”

Acknowledging this fact, Jeje Lalpekhlua said, as reported in Indian football latest news,
“China are playing smart football now. The Chinese Super League has gone from strength to strength very much. They are more developed now and we have to play as a team to garner some positive result.”
However, despite of acknowledging that the India vs China football match is going to be a tough one for the visiting team, Lalpekhlua also said that at this point of time in Indian football, the experience would matter much more than the final scoreline. He said,
“The result is obviously important but the most important aspect is how we play the game. The teamwork is important. We have to work together. If we are able to do this according to our plan, we can get a positive result.”
Lalpekhlua also showered praised for his national teammate Anirudh Thapa, who recently made waves in Indian football news when he was awarded the AIFF Young Player of the Year. The 27-year-old striker said, “He (Anirudh) is a good player with a good football brain. He’s high on confidence and played really well of late. I hope he’s one to watch in future.”

But we will play the Asian Cup in the UAE and it’s going to be a big test for us. So, we need to play more away games now and the match against China is the right test to face.”
