The Hero Indian Super League 2018-19 season is just a few days away from kick-off, with the opening clash slated to take place between ATK and Kerala Blasters FC on September 29, at 7:30 PM (IST). While that is enough to make waves in the latest Indian football news, Kerala Blasters forward Seiminlen Doungel took the hype a notch higher and said that his team was ready to take on any opposition in the upcoming season of Hero Indian Super League Football (ISL 2018-19).

Doungel, who is a former player of the NorthEast United FC, was traded to KBFC ahead of the fifth season of Hero Indian Super League football (ISL 2018-19), and had also featured for the Blasters in the preseason fixtures against footballing giants such as Australian A-League side Melbourne City and La Liga side Girona FC.

The 24-year-old Manipuri footballer spoke about his and his team’s prospects in the upcoming Indian football league (ISL 2018-19), and said, as reported in Indian football latest news by Goal, “I am completely fit now and I am ready to give my best for Kerala Blasters. I am enjoying this place a lot. I enjoy how the fans support Blasters, I am really grateful for it. I want to improve as a player and score more goals (this season).”

Indian Football latest news: Doungel ready to play a more flexible role for KBFC in the Hero Super League 2018 season

Seiminlen Doungel is a rather talented striker at the age of 24, and had scored four goals for NorthEast United FC last season which had also included a hattrick. However, he is determined and ready to improve on his showing from the last season of Hero Indian Super League football, and is also going to play a box-to-box role, when it’s required by Kerala Blasters FC.

As reported in latest Indian football news, Doungel discussed his team tactics briefly and his new role that will be on display for Kerala Blasters FC in the Hero Super League 2018. He said, “As a team, we are tactically good. I can’t explain it very deeply but I am also a part of the team’s attack. I may drop deep to defend but I will also join the attack. We have two good strikers so I will be joining them. I will be moving up and down the field.”

The Hero Super League 2018 schedule was released a while ago, and Kerala Blasters FC are slated to play the opening clash against the Kolkata-based Hero Super League 2018 side ATK on September 29, at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Despite of the formidable ATK squad ready and raring to topple their opponents in the Hero Indian Super League 2018 season, Doungel was confident that KBFC will always be ready to face any type of opposition.

As reported in Indian football latest news, Seiminlen Doungel said, “The season has not started yet so I can’t be 100 percent sure but they are all good teams. ATK have a lot of experienced players. For now, I can’t point out a team that will be difficult to beat. With all due respect, we’re always ready to face any type of team.”
