West Indies Women make a strong start to the T20I series against South Africa after tying their ODI series

West Indies Women won the first T20I of the five-match series by a 17-run margin, thanks to Windies opener Natasha McLean, who anchored their batting lineup with a sturdy 41-ball 38-run knock, despite of the teams’ wickets clicking at regular intervals on the other end. After McLean, it was Deandra Dottin, Merissa Aguilleira and Kycia Knight who took Windies to a total of 124 despite of the team being 98 for 6 at one point, credit to South African bowlers’ Zintle Mali and Saarah Smith’s two wickets a piece.

South Africa’s chase was impacted early on as they lost both their opening wickets within a span of 4 overs.
