Indian football news will only speak on one event when 22nd September arrives, and that will be the preseason exhibition match that has been slated to take place between the two representatives of the top-flights of India football – Indian Super League (ISL) outfit FC Goa and I-League giants East Bengal FC. The clash which is already making waves in Indian football latest news is set to be held at the Bambolim Football ground in Goa.
Indian football latest news: East Bengal FC to get in the groove for I-League 2018-19 by taking on FC Goa
East Bengal FC’s top official Debabrata Sarkar had recently confirmed to Sportstar, that the I-League giants will travel to Goa a couple of days prior to the date on which the exhibition match is set to take place. As reported in Indian football latest news, Sarkar had said, “We will be playing an exhibition game with the ISL’s Goa franchise at their home ground. This will be a part of our pre-season training.”
While the ISL team FC Goa, who are currently spending some time on a pre-season camp in Spain, had not given any official word on the exhibition match which is being hyped up in ISL news and latest Indian football news, it was learnt that the club was on the verge of officially announcing the fixture on its social media soon, as the ISL team was expected to be back from the Spain tour on Monday.
And that is what happened. Making waves in ISL news and Indian football latest news, FC Goa posted on their Twitter, “The Gaurs are back home and continue their preseason prep. Be there to back the Gaurs as they take on Kolkata giants East Bengal FC in their first game on home turf at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium.”

While the I-League season will also start soon, many I-League teams have been undertaking tours of abroad for their pre-season camps, the same has not been finalised on by East Bengal FC. As reported in latest Indian football news or football news India, EBFC official Debabrata Sarkar had said, “We are still discussing the matter. Something will be finalised soon.”
A number of Indian Super League outfits have undertaken pre-season matches against their I-League counterparts, and the main few examples are; Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC and Northeast United, who have all played pre-season exhibition matches with I-League clubs this year.
Last year this time around, East Bengal FC had played a friendly match with Jamshedpur FC, winning the clash 3-1.’
