It has been reported in Indian football latest news that the Indian National football team, which is currently on an exposure (preparatory) trip in Australia, has been slated to play against the reigning champions of the A-League, i.e. Sydney FC, in a friendly fixture on August 28. The preparatory trip to Australia, which is making waves in Indian football news, has come a few days ahead of India’s 12th SAFF Championship campaign which is supposed to kickoff in Dhaka in September, 2018.

The Indian football players shortlisted for SAFF Championship camp had flown over to the land down under just a few days back, and were reported in Indian football latest news to have been stranded without a schedule for their friendlies for a while. However, with the latest development that is being reported in Indian football news by AIFF, the Indian national football team will play against defending A-League Premier Champions Sydney FC in a friendly fixture on August 28, 2018.

Apart from the mammoth friendly fixture against A-League champions Sydney FC, India are also scheduled to play against other football clubs such as APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC and Rydalmere Lions FC. As reported in Indian football news, the fixture against the Tigers will take place on August 25, and on August 31, India will face the Lions to wrap up their exposure trip.

As reported in Indian football latest news by AIFF, the head coach of the Indian football national team, Stephen Constantine, spoke about the critical clash against an almighty Sydney FC and said, “Sydney FC are the current A-League Premiers Champion and the best-performing club over the last 3 years. It will be a huge test for us and we are ready for that.”

Sydney FC have enjoyed a dominant run in the A-League last season, where they had a 14-point lead over the No.2 ranked Newcastle Jets in the points table. However, the other two teams which are supposed to take on India are going to be tough as well. Speaking about the prospects, Stephen Constantine said in Indian football latest news today,

“We are scheduled to play against APIA Leichhardt tomorrow (August 25) and they have been on a decent run recently. They beat Melbourne Victory in a cup match earlier this week and we’re getting ready for a taxing game.”

“Our last game is against another NPL team Rydalmere Lions FC who have also made the right noises last season. Both of the teams would feature a mix of U-20 and Senior Team boys.”

The Indian team have been making waves in Indian football news in their attempts to get ready for the 2018 SAFF Championship. Before flying out to Australia, Constantine’s boys also had a 20-day long camp in New Delhi. They are slated to kick-off their SAFF Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in Dhaka on September 5.
