- Pogba and Mourinho’s relationship at Man United is very strained at the moment following the Portuguese manager’s criticism of his own player at the World Cup
Paul Pogba’s career at Manchester United seems to be going through its toughest phase with tension rising between him and Jose Mourinho. The 25-year-old has scored in both the league games till now putting away a penalty to open the scoring for the season for Red Devils against Leicester City and then slotting in a consolation goal against Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, Pogba’s 2 goals up until now haven’t squashed the rumors surrounding him with a move to Barcelona this summer. To add fuel to fire the Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola yesterday tweeted condemning Paul Scholes comments regarding his client following United’s 3-2 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Following Manchester United’s defeat last weekend, Scholes didn’t hold back and criticised Pogba for his performance and later admitted that there is a lack of leadership in the team. Raiola, who has represented Pogba’s for years didn’t stay quiet after the former Red Devils midfielder comments about the French World Cup winning player.
In a series of tweets criticising Scholes, Raiola wrote,”Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten. Paul Scholes wouldn’t recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill.
Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club.’
It has been reported that Barcelona is considering bidding for Paul Pogba either this summer or in the winter transfer window and this along with Jose Mourinho’s strained relationship with the club management will keep the fans stressed until the European transfer window slams shut.
Pogba, himself hasn’t done much to elevate the fears of Manchester United supporters, especially after his comments following the win against Leicester City. When questioned about his relationship with Mourinho, the French midfielder choose to say,”There are things that I can not say because I would be fined.”
Latest Football News: Mino Raiola not a favourite at Manchester United
Raiola comments criticising Scholes and ridiculing his analysis hasn’t gone down too well with some of the former Manchester United players especially Gary Nevill, who soon after Raiola’s comments tweeted himself and wrote,”Let’s hope @paulpogba leads his agent and shuts him up!”
For those who aren’t aware, Raiola has never really enjoyed a good relationship with either Jose Mourinho or previous Manchester United managers including the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, who famously labelled him as a ‘scum’. The fact that Manchester United lost the game against Brighton has just added to the tensions at Old Trafford. There next match against Tottenham feels like a must-win game not only for Manchester United but even the likes of Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba, who will be under severe criticism if the most successful club in England starts the season with just 3 points from their first 3 matches.
