The transfer of Uruguayan midfielder Matias Mirabaje from Delhi Dynamos to Mumbai City FC only took a while to stir up the ISL transfer news and Indian football news, but for all sorts of unusual reasons. While the ISL teams are engaged in acquiring new players ahead of the ISL 2018-19 season, the story of Matias was just the same. But what sent shockwaves in Indian football latest news was the fact that the Delhi Dynamos director Rohan Sharma took an offensive dig at their former player Matias Mirabaje, and the ISL team that he got transferred to ahead of ISL 2018-19, i.e. Mumbai City FC.

Indian football latest news: Matias Mirabaje had scored three goals for the Dynamos in the last edition of ISL football

It was revealed in Indian football news on Friday (17 August) that Matias Mirabaje, who scored three goals for Delhi Dynamos in the last edition of ISL football, was bought by Mumbai City FC ahead of the ISL 2018-19 season in hopes that the Uruguayan midfielder would help MCFC, who finished up just spot above Delhi Dynamos last season, to achieve ISL football glory in the upcoming season.

However, Delhi Dynamos Director and Matias Mirabaje’s former boss, Rohan Sharma, slammed the player and Mumbai City FC on social media, just a few hours after the ISL transfer news was made official in Indian football latest news.

As reported in Indian football news and ISL news, Rohan Sharma took a dig at Mirabaje’s health and form on Twitter and wrote, “Good luck with a midfielder who was out of shape for 75% of the season and with a coach that we immediately rejected. Clearly they were #MadeForMumbai”

The 29-year-old Uruguayan had made 12 appearances for Delhi Dynamos in the last edition of ISL football, contributing three goals in total. Mirabaje also had to miss four games after an altercation with Mumbai City midfielder Sehnaj Singh, both of whom will be playing along with each other in ISL 2018-19 season.

Indian football news: Rohan Sharma claims Mumbai City FC’s coach Jorge Costa was rejected by Delhi Dynamos

As is evident from Rohan Sharma’s tweet, the offense was also aimed at Mumbai City’s recently-appointed coach Jorge Costa, who was allegedly rejected by Delhi Dynamos prior to him signing with Mumbai City FC.

Given the current situation at hand, it becomes interesting to note that Rohan Sharma had spoken well of Matias Mirabaje in Indian football news when the midfielder was signed by the Delhi side ahead of the last edition of ISL football.

As reported by Goal, the Delhi Dynamos director had said, “I’m happy to have Matias join Delhi Dynamos this season. He is going be to an attacking threat in our midfield with his ferocious left foot. He brings a lot of experience and I’m sure he’s going to make an impact in our midfield.”
