Indian football news: Miguel Palanca has played in La Liga, A-League and many more

FC Goa recently made waves in Indian football latest news when they announced the signing of Miguel Palanca. The 30-year-old Spanish footballer boasts of immense and vast experience that he has earned over 250 some appearances for footballing giants in La Liga, A-League (Australia), Ekstraklasa (Poland) and Cypriot First Division. We can expect Palanca’s presence on the field to act as a boon for the Indian football players in FC Goa, as he will impart a great degree of technical expertise and guile to the Indian football players at the Fatorda Stadium.

Miguel Palanca had emerged out of RCD Espanyol’s youth ranks, playing for the first team and B-team in the 2006/07 season. The winger had made his La Liga debut in 2007 against Sevilla FC after which he went on to play for Real Madrid making his debut in the El Classico against FC Barcelona.

Miguel Palanca then went on to play for more clubs in the Spanish second division such as Elche CF and CD Numancia. The 30-year-old then became sort of a globetrotter, going on to play for clubs in the Australian A-League with Adelaide United FC, Gimnastic de Tarragona in Spain and short stints in Poland and Cyprus. And as reported in Indian football latest news, the Spaniard has now been roped in by the ISL team FC Goa.

Indian football latest news: FC Goa’s prospects and players attracted Miguel Palanca to sign with the ISL team for ISL 2018-19 season

As reported in Indian football news by XtraTime, Miguel Palanca expressed his pleasure and excitement after signing the contract with FC Goa and said,

“I am extremely delighted to be signing for FC Goa. The club’s past record in the league and the players who are already there along with the overall project are what attracted me the most and I can’t wait to get started in the ISL.”

FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera, on the other hand, was equally delighted with the acquisition of the Spaniard. Speaking about the development that is bound to make waves in Indian football latest news, Lobera said,

“Palanca is a very experienced player. He can play in many positions, and not only has great dribbling skills but also knows how to finish. He can play in any position at the front, and I think that he will greatly augment the team’s efforts, since only 5 foreigners are allowed on the pitch, it’s good to have a player with these characteristics. He has played alongside Coro in the past, and I think he’ll be a key player in order to achieve our goals.”
