- Red wine is a secret to Ronaldo’s fitness as antioxidants in it, including resveratrol, help lower inflammation levels in the body and improve balance
After winning two back-to-back Ballon d’Or’s, 3 consecutive Champions League titles and the 2016 EURO’s in past 3 years, Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the best player on the planet at the moment and has been among the top two best players of the world for the past decade.
Ronaldo’s move to Juventus is just another challenge in his glittering career and one that we feel he will conquer without a doubt. Portugal couldn’t go past Uruguay in the Round of 16 at the 2018 FIFA World Cup but one man who didn’t disappoint one bit with his performance was their captain Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring all 4 of Portugal’s goals from their first 2 matches of the tournament.
Red wine the secret to Ronaldo maintaining his physique
Now Luis Lavrador, who is Portugal national teams chef has revealed that Cristiano’s secret to success could actually be him downing a glass of wine after his evening meal.
He spoke to Business Insider and revealed,“His diet is very rich in protein and he’ll drink a glass of wine a day, as well as eating many varieties of fish, fresh fruit, cereals, assorted salads and grilled meat.”
Having scored a total of 311 La Liga goals for Real Madrid after joining them back in 2009, Ronaldo will be hoping that his fitness and body can allow him to produce the same performances for Juventus and hopefully repay the massive transfer fees Juventus had to shell out in order to get him to Turin.
Ronaldo’s physical attributes match that of a 20-year-old
After his medical at Juventus, reports revealed that his physical attributes are of 20-year-old, with just 7% body fat and an incredible 50% muscle mass. He has arrived at Juventus in pristine condition and with a fire to help the Italian champions win that much-awaited Champions League title, that they have narrowly missed out in recent years.
With extensive research done on the benefits of Red Wine, Ronaldo believes that one glass a day after his meal in the evening could actually give him the competitive edge. The antioxidants, including resveratrol, help lower inflammation levels in the body and improve balance. It is also true that Red Wine does help reduce the risk of heart diseases by around 30 per cent, and are less likely to suffer from Alzheimer’s.
Cristiano Ronaldo has joined up for training with the rest of the Juventus squad but is expected to miss the preseason match against Real Madrid. However, his debut is scheduled for 19 August when Juventus open their league campaign away against Chievo.
