- ISL 2018 under-performers NorthEast United FC are aiming for ISL football glory for the upcoming ISL 2018-19 season, signing more than a handful of players
- Indian football latest news revealed that ‘The Highlanders’ have acquired ex-former I-League player of Shillong Lajong, Redeem Tlang, to improve on their rankings from the last season of ISL football
ISL transfer news has been on the rise for the past several weeks, and rightly so, as the ISL 2018-19 season is now just a few months away. Having finished at the rock-bottom of the ISL 2018 rankings, NorthEast United FC are making moves to improve, and have already added some pace to their flanks, which will be provided by the ex-Shillong Lajong winger Redeem Tlang. The 23-year-old has played in the I-League for quite long, and will make a move to ISL football now, something which is all over the Indian football news.
This won’t be Redeem Tlang’s first stint in ISL football, however, as the winger had played for NorthEast United FC in the 2014 edition of ISL football. But now it seems that the 23-year-old has made a permanent move to a club other than Shillong Lajong for the first time in his career, which is why it is sort of a big deal for ISL transfer news and even Indian football news.
Indian football latest news: Redeem Tlang returns to ISL football and NEUFC, this time for long
NEUFC made waves in Indian football latest news and ISL transfer news when they announced the signing of Tlang on their official Twitter page. The club posted, “It’s time for Redeemption! The young winger from Shillong makes his way back to #NEUFC this season to light up Sarusajai!”

NorthEast United FC have been a part of ISL football ever since it was founded in 2014 and has a promising potential and fan-base. However, the ISL team has not been able to reach even the top-four ranks in any of their four seasons in ISL football. To add to their worries, their home-ground, i.e. the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati has seen some of the lowest attendances in the Indian Super League over the last season.
Making moves to reverse the downward spiral that NEUFC had been on, the ISL team NorthEast United FC recently announced a strategic tie-up with the I-League side Neroca FC, to boost their player-recruitment operations.
The Highlanders, as the NEUFC club are popularly known as, already have an experienced manager in Avram Grant, the former Chelsea boss. And as is evident from Indian football latest news, the club has also started to sign the players who they believe, can light up the ISL 2018-19 season.
