- Miralem Pjanic recently spoke regarding rumours about him Juventus this summer for Chelsea or Manchester City
- The Juventus midfielder didn’t confirm any rumours and made it clear that he was happy at Juventus
- He also spoke about clubs ambitions from the new season now that they have Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus are currently in the United States of America preparing for the upcoming Serie A season. The Turin club will take on Benfica tomorrow at the Red Bull Arena, which will be their 2nd match of the ongoing International Champions Cup.
Following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, the mood around the club is positive and the squad is raring to start their title defense on August 19th.
Even though Juventus have managed to get Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, the best player in the world, the club are still working on finalizing some more deals, which involves new players coming in and current players going out.
One player whose future has been under doubt this summer is midfielder Miralem Pjanic. In latest Chelsea news, the 28-year-old has spoken for the first time regarding rumours linking him with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Barcelona.
Pjanic future at Juventus doesn’t depend on him
During an event for Adidas in New York, Pjanic told the reporters, “I have nothing to say in this sense, read and hear things, but I’m here and I try to prepare myself to the best and find the best form. I think to train to the maximum. The rest does not depend on me”
Juventus will start of their Seria A title defense away at Chievo Verona, which is also expected to Ronaldo’s first appearance for the Turin club. Speaking about his ambitions with Juventus for the upcoming season, Pjanic was clear that their target was the Champions League.
Juventus have lost 2 Champions League finals in recent memory, one to Barcelona and one to Real Madrid and are now desperate to lift that prestigious trophy. With the recent accusations, Juventus definitely have a chance of going all the way, something which Pjanic believes his team can do.
For Juventus that much-awaited Champions League title is the priority
“Awareness in our vehicles It is growing from year to year and this is essential if you want to get to the end of all the competitions and get everything. We have always played to try to do it, every year we have reached increasingly high levels and in this season we have all in mind to give our best to win everything, to win the Champions that we have only touched so far,” he said.
Over the past few seasons, Pjanic has become a key part of the Juventus set-up and according to him the credit for that has to go towards his improved defensive skills. He concluded by saying, “I think I grew up as a player especially in being more lucid in managing the game, I refer to tactical readings, so I thank the coach who helped me in this direction, and the qualities of the group, of my companions, but the usual speech is always valid: growth must be constant and we must continue to improve, on a team level and individually.”
Hearing him say all this so close to the season starting, it points increasingly towards an extended stay for him at Juventus, a club which has turned him to a superstar of world football. Chelsea, who are still looking to get one or two signings done before the transfer window slams shut might need to look somewhere for their player, especially if Eden Hazard decides to leave.
