- New PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is open to the idea of letting Neymar leave the club this summer
- Neymar has linked with a move to Real Madrid as Florentino Perez is keen to bring him in as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo
Popular Spanish radio Onda Cero is the source of Latest Neymar Transfer News as they have revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are in no mood to let 2018 FIFA World Cup star Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid this summer and the transfer has been blocked one hundred percent. However, the exit door is not completely blocked for Neymar per se.
A significant development in Neymar’s potential move to Real Madrid is that PSG head honchos in Qatar have now left the decision to new coach Thomas Tuchel. The German tactician does not see the 26-year-old attacker as an “essential” part of his squad for the 2018/19 campaign.
Mbappe the only unmovable object at PSG, Neymar can leave
At the moment, there is only quintessential “untouchable” figure at PSG and that is Kylian Mbappe. The teenager set the world alight during France’s victorious campaign in Russia and is now being hailed as a future Ballon d’Or winner in footballing circles across the globe. The rise in Mbappe’s stock has also left Neymar feeling a bit threatened by the fact that the 19-year-old might overshadow him at PSG, something akin to what Lionel Messi did to him at Barcelona.
Tuchel, on his part, is also said to have clearly communicated his stand on Neymar to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Despite his initial reluctance, even he is willing to let the Brazilian superstar leave the club but for a stratospheric fee which will have to be more than €200 million.
After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, Real Madrid remains Neymar’s most likely destination and president Florentino Perez is also very keen on getting him in as the new poster boy for Los Blancos. The construction magnate also reiterated his desire of getting in new players to help Julen Lopetegui in his first season as Madrid boss. Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday, Perez said: “Real Madrid have a great squad that is only going to be reinforced with magnificent players in the coming days.”
Further, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo also reported that Neymar remains Perez’s obsession but is not a priority for Lopetegui and general manager Jose Angel Sanchez. The president’s “obsession” can be attributed to the club’s need for a new ‘Galactico’ after Ronaldo’s departure which has left a gaping hole in the club’s first team.
“We are aware of the level of demand of the team each season. We are Real Madrid and we always want more. We must reinforce the present and at the same time strengthen the future,” Perez said at Wednesday’s press meet.
Florentino Perez willing to go all out for only Neymar and no other player
However, Perez is not willing to do “crazy” things for players other than Neymar. Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard is also a prime target but Real Madrid will not throw the kitchen sink to secure his signing. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is deemed to be very close but his transfer fees is somewhere in the region of €35 to €40 million. The Belgian keeper has a burning desire of returning to the city of Madrid, where his children still live and study.
According to Belgian press, Courtois has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid worth €12 million a year and that the player is currently in Tenerife waiting for his future to be sorted out in the coming days. Hazard is a bit more complicated as new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is not willing to let him leave without a fight.
