- PSG are confident that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will stay at PSG this summer
- PSG sporting director Luis Fernandez spoke exclusively with Radio Marca to confirm Neymar’s stay at PSG for the next season
In the latest Neymar transfer news, PSG sporting director Luis Fernandez has confirmed that Neymar has decided to stay at PSG and will snub every offer from Real Madrid. The news comes soon after Kylian Mbappe pleaded his future with PSG and also decided to snub Real Madrid this summer. Real Madrid have been desperately trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement after Ronaldo signed for Juventus in a reported 105million transfer deal. Real Madrid were eyeing Neymar and Mbappe as their ideal replacements, however, both players have decided to stay at PSG leaving Real Madrid very short on options when it comes to signing Ronaldo’s replacement.
Neymar will stay at PSG along with Mbappe
Confirming Neymar’s stay at PSG, club’s sporting director Luis Fernandez spoke with Radio Marca where he said: “Neymar has decided to remain in Paris Saint Germain, he wants to win, after failing to make it in the World Cup, I think he wants to win titles with PSG.”
Sources close to the club believe that Neymar’s decision to stay at PSG has come after the club decided to pay 222million for him when it seemed like an impossible transfer and Neymar now wants to repay that faith with his loyalty. Neymar is convinced by PSG’s project and seeing how Mbappe has also decided to stay at PSG, Neymar is likely to target the Champions League trophy next season.
Neymar transfer news was always going to dominate the headlines given Real Madrid’s willingness to sign the Brazilian and make him the face of their club. Neymar’s painful World Cup exit has made the player hungrier than ever to win the domestic titles and as per the reports, he wants to stay in PSG to achieve them next season. Real Madrid will need to turn their attention to Eden Hazard to find Ronaldo’s replacement.
PSG do not care about Financial Fair Play Rule
PSG sporting director Luis Fernandez was bullish in his interview with Radio Marca where he revealed that he is not worried about UEFA’s impending Financial Fair Play verdict and is only concerned about ensuring the best players stay and play for PSG. Commenting on Mbappe’s possible stay at PSG, Fernandez said: “He also stays, he has said it, one hundred percent, he wants to win the Champions League with PSG, the financial fair-play, I do not care, the important thing is that both Neymar and Mbappé want to stay in the PSG “.
Fernandez is aware of the growing interest in Mbappe’s transfer after his heroics at the FIFA World Cup 2018. Mbappe was asked to operate from the right wing at FIFA WC 2018 and performed exceedingly well. With clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United in need to sign a right winger, Mbappe is their ideal signing, however, PSG are keen to keep hold of both Neymar and Mbappe at least until next season.
