Neymar Transfer News: PSG ready to offer Brazilian star new contract worth €50m/year to keep Real Madrid away

  • PSG are going all out to keep star man Neymar at the club this summer and prevent him from joining Real Madrid
  • Neymar has been strongly linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu as Florentino Perez is looking for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s move to Juventus in expected to set a domino effect in motion with Real Madrid looking to sign Neymar to replace their departed talisman this summer. While other names like Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard have also been floated by some news outlets, it the 26-year-old Brazilian captain who has been on Los Blancos’ radar for a while now.

PSG offering fresh terms worth €50 million a year to Neymar

A report in Spanish daily AS claims that Paris Saint Germain are well aware of the whole situation and know that Madrid president Florentino Perez is looking to fill the void left by Cristiano’s departure and Neymar is the chosen one. The player, who arrived at the club only a year ago in a record deal worth €222 million, is quite fascinated by the idea of moving to Santiago Bernabeu. He is of the opinion that he can be the undisputed leader at Real Madrid with Ronaldo no longer there.

To elaborate on this Neymar Transfer News, the PSG bosses have already initiated talks with Neymar’s representatives to improve the attacker’s existing contract so as to counter Madrid’s ever-rising challenge and keep the Brazilian star in Paris. Last summer, Neymar joined the club on a five-year deal and is therefore contractually tied to the club until 2022. His current salary is €37 million per year and the improved terms offered will take him closer to Lionel Messi‘s level, who is the best paid footballer on the planet with a salary of net €50 million per year.

At present, there is no release clause in Neymar’s contract with PSG and Real Madrid are hoping that the 26-year-old can ask his current club to leave or even hand in a transfer request if needed. Hence, the French champions are betting on the lure of a pay rise to keep their star man from turning rebel this summer.

The report in AS also suggests that Neymar’s PSG teammate Mbappe can be Madrid’s Plan B in case they fail to land the Brazilian. The Frenchman has been starring for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and is 7 years younger than Neymar. Also, he could be available at a much lesser price which might appeal to Perez and co.

PSG hire Brazil’s physio to appease Neymar

It seems that PSG are going all-out to prevent Neymar’s head from turning as they have announced Bruno Mazziotti as the club’s new head physio. Mazziotti has previously worked with the Brazilian national team and Corinthians and was very close to Neymar during his recovery process after the severe foot injury. He was instrumental in the national team’s captain getting fit in time for the World Cup in Russia and is seen as close the player.

Further, when Neymar suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot towards the end of February, PSG even allowed Rodrigo Lasmar to operate on the superstar. Lasmar is also associated with Brazil and is their official team doctor.
