I-League giants Mohun Bagan FC and East Bengal FC are always engaged in overhauling their prospects to dominate the league, and when one club is resting, another is getting set to throw a big surprise. We’re talking about East Bengal FC (EBFC), which recently signed a sponsorship deal with Quess Corporation, and are now known as QEBFC. The club have made a mammoth signing by roping in Johnny Acosta, who was seen representing Costa Rica in the World Cup campaign in Russia. QEBFC are now on the verge of signing another star footballer, the Brazilian footballer Robinho, who has impressed in Russia as well.
East Bengal in close talks with Brazilian star Robinho
Robinho was one of the top stars in Europe and Brazil football, and has a heavy resume when it comes to footballing experience, having played in AC Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester City. Currently, playing for the Turkish Super League team Sivasspor, it is being reported that QEBFC are now planning to pay Robinho a salary of 2 million euros, something that will make waves in Indian football news if materialised.
It means, that if Robinho is successfully traded to East Bengal FC, then the 34-year-old would become one of the most expensive players in Indian football history. It is also being reported in the Indian football latest news, that Robinho’s representatives are asking QEBFC a total of 17 million taka (roughly 1.5 crore INR) for the transfer completion, and East Bengal are looking to lower the amount a little, as reported by Sporx.
Ultimately, it is being reported in the Indian football news, that if East Bengal and Sivasspor reach a mutually sound agreement, then Robinho will be the biggest name in EBFC history, now recognised as QEBFC. The 34-year-old forward scored 4 goals in 14 games in the Turkish Super League, and also registered 3 assists, and could be the center of attraction in Indian football news if he steps on EBFC turf.
Although there has been no official word from the club officials from either side, the new sponsorship deal between Quess Corporation and East Bengal will certainly open room for such large-scale transfers, and we expect some development in this transfer move in the Indian football latest news.
