La Liga giants Real Madrid have denied reports that they have lowered Cristiano Ronaldo‘s release clause from 1,000 million euros to just 120m in order to facilitate his departure from the club this summer. Spanish daily OK Diario is the source of this Real Madrid Transfer News Now as they had suggested that there was a dramatic turn of events concerning the Portuguese superstar’s future.
As per this Real Madrid Latest News report, Ronaldo’s release clause had been lowered between the end of January and the beginning of February this year. In more on this Real Madrid Transfer News, it was also stated that the new clause would not be applicable to Clasico rivals Barcelona and Paris-Saint Germain and would still have to pay the previous amount agreed in Ronaldo’s contract were they interested in the player’s services.
With Real Madrid’s stance now clear, it appears that any club interested in signing the Portuguese national team captain will have to pay the full amount to secure his services.

There had also been rumours of club president Florentino Perez finally sanctioning his star player’s sale this summer as he was seriously considering bringing in Neymar to spearhead the club’s all-out assault next season.
Earlier this month on June, OK Diario had even proclaimed that Ronaldo was hell bent on leaving Santiago Bernabeu as they published a story titled “Cristiano leaves Madrid” on their cover.
According to that report, Ronaldo had made up his mind about seeking a transfer and that his decision was as good as irreversible. It was believed that he was disappointed by the club’s ‘failure to fulfill promises’ regarding improving his contract and putting his salary figures at par with the likes of Lionel Messi and potential successor Neymar.
