Another tragic death has taken place after a World Cup match ended, and it has stormed the FIFA World Cup news. An Egyptian coach and a former player in the Egyptian Sports Club Zamalek, Abdelraheem Mohammed died owing to a massive heart attack after Saudi Arabia winger Salem Al Dawsari scored the team’s winning goal during the Group A match between Saudi Arabia and Egypt at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Egyptian coach was agitated after Saudi Arabia scored the winning goal

The tragic incident happened on Monday night, June 25, as it is being reported in the latest World Cup news by Khaleej Times. Abdel Raheem Mohammed had been analyzing the Saudi Arabia vs Egypt Group A match at the Maspero Television Building, in Egypt, when Saudi scored the winning goal in the late minutes of the match.

A friend who had been with Abdelraheem at the time, revealed in the FIFA World Cup 2018 news, that the coach had been in a state of agitation when the goal was scored, and was soon rushed to the hospital.

Ambulance vehicles took the Egyptian footballing pundit to Qasr El Eyni hospital in Cairo. It comes to the fore in FIFA World Cup latest news, that although the doctors attempted to revive him, but despite their efforts, he passed away.

Another Egyptian man, 38-year-old actor Maher Islam, died last week after suffering a stroke while watching the World Cup match between Uruguay and Egypt.

Egypt and Liverpool FC star Mo Salah had opened the scoring in Egypt’s Group A dead rubber against Saudi Arabia with an early goal, which only took him 22 minutes to deliver. But as Egypt could not qualify to the next stage even if they had won, the 26-year-old was seen not celebrating the goal.

Entering the FIFA World Cup news, Salah was seen sprinting between two Saudi Arabian defenders, latching onto a long ball over the top and quickly bringing the ball under control to chip it over Saudi goalkeeper Yasser Al-Mosailem. As the goal was worthy of landing in the World Cup Football news, it was celebrated enthusiastically by Salah’s team-mates, including the 45-year-old keeper Essam El-Hadary, who dropped to his knees in delight, but Salah’s reaction was rather more subdued.

Salah, then later missed a golden chance which could have helped Egypt end the competition on a high. Soon, after Egypt keeper El-Hadary saved a penalty from Fahad al-Muwallad, Saudi Arabia turned the game to a complete 360 degree, credit to a second spot-kick converted by Salman al-Faraj, and an injury-time winner by Salem al-Dawsari.

Despite finishing with three defeats from three matches, Egypt coach Cúper felt that his players performed well in Russia, and were only unlucky to lose two games to late goals. As reported by The Guardian, Cuper, who’s contract as Egypt coach ends after the end of the World Cup, said, “I think we have played well. It’s true that the results weren’t good. We have lost all three matches.”
