Football Transfer News Arsenal – Bernd Leno signs for Arsenal
Arsenal confirmed their second signing of the summer after agreeing on a £19m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of goalkeeper Bernd Leno. The 26-year-old was part of the German squad in the Confederation Cup last year in Russia and arrives in London with a big reputation behind his back.
Leno is expected to be the first choice keeper for Arsenal in the upcoming season with Petr Cech acting as his mentor and back-up from the bench. David Ospina could be the one walking out of the door following this move as he looks for more game time somewhere else.
“We are very pleased that Bernd Leno will be joining us. Bernd is a goalkeeper of high quality and experience. We are all excited that Bernd has chosen Arsenal and look forward to start working with him in pre-season,” said Arsenal’s new manager Unai Emery.
Arsenal Latest Transfer Rumours – Arsenal ‘to hold talks with Ever Banega’
Latest Arsenal Transfer Rumours suggest that the Gunners are looking to bring in Argentina international Ever Banega to the Emirates this summer in a bid to strengthen the squad further before the start of next season. According to reports in Spain, Arsenal delegation will hold a meeting with Banega’s agent this week in order to prepare a formal bid.
Banega who joined Valencia from Boca Juniors back in 2008 before joining Sevilla where he really made a name for himself. In 2016, he joined Italian giants Inter Milan but returned last season to Sevilla, and is an integral part of their squad, which is why it won’t be an easy task for Emery to prise him away from there.
Latest Arsenal Transfer News suggests that Sevilla will be willing to part with their midfielder but will require a bid of around €12m. However, Banega is 29-years-old which means that he won’t offer a permanent solution to the Gunner’s problem but for the next couple of seasons he could be a real asset in the Arsenal squad.

According to the Arsenal Latest Transfer News, Unai Emery has completed the deal for Sampdoria defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira. During an interview for TMW, Sampdoria chief Ferrero said, “Torreira has left for €30million, I bought him from Pescara when nobody believed in him. We took a gamble on him and we won, paying just €3million. The money that comes in will be used to capitalise the company.”
Torreira is currently with the Uruguayan squad in Russia participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and made a substitute appearance for the South American team in their first match. It is believed that Gunners have sealed the transfer thanks to a bid of £26million.
Torreira made a total of 74 appearances for Sampdoria and could prove to be a long-term replacement for Jack Wilshere, who is going to be leaving the club after the end of this month.
