Till recently it was believed that Sporting Lisbon star Gelson Martins will move to rivals Benfica but according to rumours, the negotiations between the two clubs didn’t go far before it all ended and now North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are the top two contenders for the signing of the 23-year-old.
According to Jornal de Noticias, Ulisses Santos, Martins agent is currently working on a deal to bring him to the English Premier League. It is understood that Arsenal have already tabled two offers in the region of €30million. However, the Portuguese club is hoping to spark off a bidding war for their star player which will involve Tottenham, who are known to be long-term admirers of the Portuguese winger.

According to German newspaper Kicker, an agreement between Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen has been reached over the transfer of goalkeeper Bernd Leno. As per the reports, the agreement is close to 22 million euros but the final confirmation of the deal will only be done next week.
