According to SportsBild in Germany, Arsenal are set to sign German goal-keeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen. Leno is a hugely talented keeper who was part of Germany’s Confederation Cup squad last summer but missed out on Joachim Löw’s 23 man squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
The deal is expected to cost Arsenal somewhere in the region £20m to £25m and he is expected to take the number 1 goalkeeping spot at the club with Petr Cech staying on as the number 2 in a supporting role for the youngster.
Leverkusen recently signed Lukas Hradecky from Eintracht Frankfurt, which has made Leno surplus to requirement giving the club a chance to sell him for a hefty profit. In his 304 appearances for the German outfit, Leno has managed to keep exactly 100 clean sheets. He was previously being targeted by Napoli and Chelsea but it appears that the Gunners are front-runners at the moment and are likely to seal the transfer in the next few days.

Arsenal Latest Transfer News – Arsenal and Sampdoria agree on a deal for the transfer of Lucas Torreira

According to the latest Arsenal Transfer News 2018, Italian outfit Sampdoria have agreed on a deal with Arsenal over the transfer of Lucas Torreira and the Uruguayan will very soon sign a 5-year deal with the Gunners. As per Italian news outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, the deal will cost Arsenal around €30m, which is €5m more than Torreira’s release clause in his contract.
There was interest in Torreira from clubs such as Napoli and Borussia Dortmund, however, Arsenal managed to beat them with a bigger bid. Torreira is currently with the Uruguayan national team preparing for their World Cup opener against Egypt on 15th June.
Torreira has spent the last two season with Sampdoria before which he was part of fellow Italian side Pescara. His addition will be a big boost for Arsenal, who have lacked that strength in central midfield.
