Here, we list down 5 players to watch out for in the Germany World Cup 2018 Squad:
1. Marco Reus
If there is any justice in the game of football, Marco Reus could well turn out to be the star in Germany World Cup 2018 Squad. The latter half of the 2017/18 season has brought a sense of revival for the 28-year-old Marco Reus. The Borussia Dortmund talisman has been on top form after a long spell of injuries. He will be looking to pass on his club success into national colours by proving to be a threat to opposition defences after having scored 7 goals from 11 matches for Dortmund this season. Reus was one of the main players that formed Germany’s attack force in 2014, but was extremely unlucky to miss the plane to Brazil due to an ankle injury suffered during a friendly against Armenia. Eventually, Germany lifted the World Cup in Brazil for the 4th time in its history, so Reus will be all fired up to prove his attacking prowess to the footballing world.
2. Timo Werner
Timo Werner has established himself as one of the most-feared forwards in the Bundesliga, plundering 21 strikes in his debut season last term. The RB Leipzig attacker has enjoyed another terrific season this term, scoring 21 goals in all competitions. He also has eight goals in 14 matches in his relatively young international career so far. The young centre-forward has been on the radar of Europe’s top-flight clubs due to his fiery pace and his top-class finishing. His is deadly with his shooting, as he can strike the ball into the post from difficult angles. In Werner, the Germany Football Team definitely has one of the best-attacking weapons in their arsenal. He would be looking to light up the World Cup with his blistering pace and will be another player to watch out in Germany World Cup Squad 2018.
3. Manuel Neuer
A season-long foot injury had forced the captain Manuel Neuer to remain on the sidelines and in the absence of the Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has been making all the right moves for Germany Football Team. Come the World Cup, Neuer will be striving to regain the number one position between the sticks for Germany World Cup Team 2018. The sweeper-keeper played an integral part in Die Mannschaft winning the World Cup in Brazil, which also earned him the Golden Glove Award. With the retirement of Phillip Lahm after the tournament, Neuer has also taken up the responsibility of captaining Low’s side. Neuer also showed his class in a recent warm-up fixture and will be one of the key players for Germany World Cup 2018 Squad.
4. Thomas Muller
Thomas Muller will be representing his nation on the grandest stage that is the World Cup for the third time in his career, and he is still only 28. Muller already sits eighth on the all-time World Cup goal-scoring list, the highest among any active player, and only six behind his former teammate Miroslav Klose, who set the record in 2014. The lanky striker is not your prototypical goalscorer, but he’s the type of player that seems to always be at the right place at the right time. Despite being in lukewarm form for Bayern during the 2017/18 season, one can count on Muller to stand up and deliver in Russia as he seems like a different type of player when he turns out for Germany Football Team. Since winning the World Cup in 2014, Muller has scored 12 times in 28 international appearances and will most likely be one of the players to watch out in Germany World Cup Squad 2018.
5. Toni Kroos
The Real Madrid midfielder is one of the best in the world in his position and will once again be a crucial player for Joachim Low’s Germany World Cup Team 2018 at the marquee event in Russia. Kroos, who like Muller is still only 28, has already amassed 83 caps for Germany Football Tea, and was a key member of the victorious side side four years ago in Brazil. Not content with three league titles and a Champions League with his first senior club Bayern Munich, he then swapped Munich for Madrid in 2014 and has since added a La Liga title and three consecutive Champions Leagues to his trophy haul at Santiago Bernabeu. A bona-fide superstar and a player who would walk into any midfield at the marquee event in Russia, Kroos also makes our list of players to watch out for in the Germany World Cup 2018 Squad.
