- Chelsea are locked in advanced talks to sign Laurent Blanc as the Chelsea next manager
- However, Maurizio Sarri is still in Chelsea’s plans to bring him as the Chelsea new manager
- Chelsea are yet to officially fire Antonio Conte from the club
In Chelsea latest news, hunt for Chelsea new manager is still on after Le10Sport confirmed earlier today that Chelsea are still hoping to land the former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri despite being in advanced talks with Laurent Blanc. Le10 Sport understands that although Blanc is more than likely to be named as the Chelsea next manager, The Blues have not yet given up on bringing Sarri to Stamford Bridge next season. Blanc has already met Chelsea CEO Marina Granovskaia and has discussed the plans of taking over at Chelsea but since Sarri is still available, Chelsea are hoping to land the more in-form manager.
Sarri too Napoli very close to the Serie A title
Maurizio Sarri is in great demand because of the brilliant work he did at Napoli with limited resources. Sarri’s Napoli pushed Juventus right till the end in last 2 season’s title race and even came very close to winning the Serie A last season. Sarri’s tactical awareness is hailed as one of the very best and his teams are known to score a lot of goals like we saw with Napoli. Chelsea are hopeful of bringing Sarri to Stamford Bridge and then giving him a hefty transfer budget to replicate the work he did with Napoli. Compared to Sarri, Laurent Blanc has been out of the job since being fired by PSG for underachieving with a very talented squad in Paris.
Hunt continues for Chelsea next manager
Apart from Laurent Blanc and Maurizio Sarri, Le10Sport understands that Chelsea have also held talks with Luis Enrique about the role of Chelsea new manager but his salary demands and transfer budget requirement stalled the negotiations. Chelsea have even thought of contacting Zinedine Zidane for the role of Chelsea next manager but since Zidane sighted at taking a break from football, we may not see that happen anytime soon. Laurent Blanc is still leading the race to be named as the next Chelsea manager despite Antonio Conte still being the official Chelsea manager.
The Italian is yet to hear from his employers about his termination and even he is not willing to step down from the job which ultimately could cost Chelsea an extra £9million in compensation. According to a clause in Conte’s contract, if he is sacked before 30th July, Chelsea will have to pay him a £9m compensation package to leave the club. That is the reason why Conte himself is not entering any talks to find his new club although Real Madrid and reportedly circling around him to take over at Santiago Bernabeu and replace the recently departed Zinedine Zidane.
