- Real Madrid Antonio Conte to replace Zinedine Zidane as their manager
- Antonio Conte is still contracted to Chelsea with The Blues wanting Laurent Blanc or Maurizio Sarri to become Chelsea new manager
- Real Madrid have given up on Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen to become Real Madrid next manager
In latest Real Madrid News, Chairman Florentino Perez is set to snub all managerial options including Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp to go ahead with Antonio Conte as the Real Madrid new manager, reports Gazzetta dello Sports. The report confirms Perez’s personal appreciation for Conte and how he sees the Italian as the ideal man to take over the dressing room from Zinedine Zidane who shockingly announced his decision to quit the club after winning 3 back to back Champions League titles. Conte for his part ended the season with a respectable FA Cup triumph with Chelsea in a season which was filled with a lot of animosity and distress at Stamford Bridge. In Chelsea Latest News, The Blues are locked in advanced talks with Laurent Blanc and Maurizio Sarri to become their new manager giving Real Madrid a clear route to sign Conte this summer.
Real Madrid accept defeat in Klopp and Pochettino’s chase
Gazzetta dello Sports confirms that Real Madrid initially wanted either Mauricio Pocettino or Jurgen Klopp to be the Real Madrid new manager, however, Florentino Perez could not reach an agreement with either Liverpool and Tottenham and had to give up on Pochettino and Klopp. With Klopp and Pochettino out of the running for the Real Madrid job, Real Madrid have turned their attention to Conte for more than just the footballing reasons.
Perez wants Conte to discipline Real Madrid dressing room
According to Gazzetta dello Sports, Florentino Perez was not happy with the way Zinedine Zidane handled the dressing room where he was too close to the players which often divided the dressing room. In case fo Gareth Bale where he was not preferred by Zidane to playing in the starting XI was often left outcasted as rest of the players were too close to Zidane. Perez is a fan of Conte’s hard taskmaster image and wants him to use the same technique if he joins Real Madrid. This similar trait was used by Perez when Rafa Benitez was given the Real Madrid job and we all saw how it turned bad for the club after players revolted against Benitez’s methods. Perez was reportedly not happy with Carlo Ancelotti for the same reason as Ancelotti was also very close to the players and could not dominate the dressing room.
Antonio Conte will be the third Italian manager to take charge of Real Madrid in recent years after Fabio Cappello and Carlo Ancelotti if he gets Florentino Perez’s final approval. However, according to Marca, former Real Madrid star and the current coach of Real Madri B team Guti is also in the running to be named as the Real Madrid new manager. Real Madrid would want to name their manager before the start of 2018 FIFA World Cup as it would allow them to plan their 2018 Summer Transfer window signings.
