Real Madrid star forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been an integral part of the attacking lineups of a handful of top-flight football clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, etc. Speaking about the three pacey attackers of Liverpool – Mane, Firmino and Salah – ahead of the Real Madrid vs Liverpool 2017/18 UEFA Champions League Finals, Ronaldo compared the Liverpool attacking lineup to Real Madrid squads of the previous years, and landed up on the front page of Real Madrid news and Liverpool news.
Liverpool’s attacking trio have earned the right for the team to reach 2017/18 UEFA Champions League finals
Real Madrid vs Liverpool 2017/18 UEFA Champions League Finals will be a historic event, since it is the first time in 12 years that an English Premier League club has reached the Champions League finals to face the La Liga and UCL giants Real Madrid. And looking forward to meet the Reds in the 2017/18 Champions League finals, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about the Liverpool attacking trio and said,
“They remind me of Madrid from a couple of years ago, with three quick players up top. If they are in the final, they’re there for a reason and are in it on merit.”
Ronaldo, who formerly used to play for Liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester United in the Premier League, is now looking to win a fifth Champions League title in his career, with Real Madrid looking at it’s third consecutive trophy. And knowing the mindset of the Portuguese attacker, he is confident ‘the Whites’ will do it. As reported by the Independent, Ronaldo said,
“I have a lot of respect for them (Liverpool), but I think Madrid are better. We have to realise the history we can make and we need to show our experience. It’ll be something historic, we’re really up for it.”
Important to win 2017/18 Champions League finals, says Ronaldo ahead of Liverpool vs Real Madrid
Ronaldo had faced an injury trouble when he had twisted his ankle in the 2-2 draw against Barcelona in El Clasico earlier this month. However, he seems to have shaken off any doubts about his fitness after playing an hour of the recent 2-2 draw with Villarreal. the 33-year-old also netted his 17th goal in his last 10 La Liga appearances in the process. Speaking about the Real Madrid vs Liverpool 2017/18 Champions League finals, Ronaldo said,
“I want to be fine on Saturday, play well, to score if I can, but the important thing is to win, it doesn’t matter who scores, what matters is making history.”
On the domestic front in Real Madrid news, the Whites’ defence fell flat in claiming the La Liga top spot, as they finished third in the table, 13 points behind winners Barcelona and three points below city rivals Atletico Madrid. However, Ronaldo feels that a 2017/18 Champions League finals win would not leave room for any complaints.
“I love this competition. They’re always good games and to win it you need to beat the world’s best teams. It’s a competition in which something always happens, as we saw with Juventus,” said Ronaldo.
“I’ve had an amazing season in the Champions League, scoring in all the group games. You need to be up for it and in this club you can never let up, let alone in this competition, with the history of the club. On a personal level it motivates me a lot.”
