- Hardik Pandya to make his return from injury for the IPL 2018 MI vs DD match
- Hardik Pandya missed their previous game vs SRH due to an ankle injury
- Hardik suffered the injury vs CSK and still picked up 3 wickets in that match
In the latest cricket news coming from the Mumbai Indians (MI team 2018) camp, Hardik Pandya could return for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Daredevils (DD Team 2018) after missing the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH Team 2018) due to an injury. Hardik Pandya IPL 2018 suffered an ankle injury in Mumbai’s first game of the season against Chennai Super Kings (CSK Team 2018) and was not risked in Mumbai’s second game against SRH. However, the severity of Hardik Pandya injury has come down in last hours as the all-rounder looks set to mark his return in the IPL 2018 MI vs DD match.
Hardik looked fit in training ahead IPL MI vs DD Game
According to sources close to Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya looked fit and took part in all the training sessions on Friday and is looking a certainty to start in the IPL MI vs DD game. Ahead of the massive game for Mumbai Indians, their bowling coach Shane Bond also confirmed that the team is monitoring Hardik’s situation closely and after careful evaluation, Hardik was sent home and was not risked against SRH.
Bond said: “We didn’t want to risk him for this game considering that he rolled his ankle in the last game. He’s been back in Mumbai. We’re hopeful that he’ll be fit for the next game.”
With Shane Bond’s go-ahead and the dire need of Hardik Pandya for MI team 2018, the all-rounder will be asked to play the IPL MI vs DD game even if he is at 90% fitness. Mumbai Indians have made a familiar start to their IPL 2018 campaign having lost both of their opening matches. Both those defeats have been narrow ones where MI team 2018 have gone to the last over and lost by a very close margin.
Hardik Pandya will improve MI team’s balance
Mumbai Indians decided to play Ben Cutting in the last game in place of Mitch McClenaghan and brought Pardeep Sangwan in place of the injured Hardik Pandya. However, with Pandya coming back for IPL 2018 MI vs DD game, Mumbai Indians could look to strengthen their batting and bring Hardik Pandya back in the MI Playing 11 vs DD and look to get their first win of the season. On the contrary, MI team 2018 can bring Akila Danajaya to strengthen their spin bowling and attack the Delhi Daredevils‘ hard-hitting batting lineup.
