Pujara previously played for Yorkshire back in 2015 and after missing out on the IPl 2018 auction. Cheteshwar Pujara IPL 2018 campaign was a disappointment after the player went unsold despite a base price of only INR 75 Lacs. Pujara’s game is not suited to the T20 cricket which prompted him to play the county cricket and the Indian batsman decided to play county cricket in England and joined Yorkshire for the 2018 season.
Pujara excited for the 2018 County season with Yorkshire
Cheteshwar Pujara County season took its first step last night after he arrived in England to start his preparation for the upcoming county season with Yorkshire. Pujara shared his excitement at the prospects of playing in the 2018 county and has no regrets about missing out on the IPL 2018 season.
Pujara said: “I am really excited and looking forward to the season. I Played here in 2015 and have wonderful memories of playing here we actually won the Championship. I am looking forward to the season and hopefully, we can win the Championship again. It is always good to meet the older mates at the club, as I said I had wonderful memories with my time in 2015 and I am looking forward to spending more time with them, learning with them and look to win the Championship this season.”
This is Pujara’s 4th County season
Pujara joined Yorkshire in 2015 when he was still evolving for the Indian team but will return this season with more experience and will look to be a senior figure for the Yorkshire team this season. Cheteshwar Pujara County stint is also beneficial for the Indian national cricket team who travel to England for a complete series in August.
This is the 4th Cheteshwar Pujara county stint after previously playing 3 seasons with Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Pujara enjoys playing county cricket and hopes to gain vital experience before India’s series in August.
