It may be a new season of the Indian Premier League but Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCP) must still be seeking revenge after Kolkata Knight Riders bundled them over for just 49 runs in one of the matches in IPL 2017. Perhaps that was of the reasons why RCB went ahead and signed Umesh Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Chris Woakes at the IPL 2018 auction, who were the key architectures of that humiliating defeat for RCB. Enough looking back, let’s focus our attention on IPL 2018 KKR vs RCB Match Prediction 2018 as this will be a clash of IPL’s 2 heavyweights who could punch below their weights this season. IPL RCB vs KKR Match Prediction could be impacted by the fact that both KKR and RCB have let players leave in this year’s auction and their squad strength looks thin. IPL KKR vs RCB Prediction 2018 could be dictated by the performances of those 1-2 players in both teams and IPL KKR vs RCB Prediction 2018 will also be dictated by the kind of pitch KKR decides to use on the day.

Like any other IPL match, KKR vs RCB will also dominate the conversation of Who will win today’s IPL match? and our match prediction today is favoring the home side Kolkata Knight Riders for two reasons, first, KKR can go with a spin-friendly deck to back their 3 spinners (Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla) and second, KKR have Chris Lynn, who probably the biggest match winner in world cricket right now. Give Chris Lynn 7-8 overs at the top and IPL KKR vs RCB Prediction 2018 debate could get over before it even gets started.

Karthik is an outstanding player and will have enough players on his side to come out on top in the IPL RCB vs KKR Match Prediction.
Who will win today’s IPL match? IPL RCB vs KKR Match Prediction
Having assessed the factors responsible, Match Prediction Today between KKR and RCB is favoring the home side Kolkata Knight Riders for the following reasons. Kolkata Knight Riders bat deeper than Royal Challengers Bangalore with KKR having much more destructive players than RCB. Yes, Virat Kohli had an outstanding 2016 IPL season but apart from that, he has really struggled to make any sort of impact for the RCB. AB de Villiers often gets left on his own and it could happen the same in the first match of the season for both KKR and RCB in the IPL 2018 KKR vs RCB Match Prediction 2018.
KKR vs RCB Prediction – Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the match with AB de Villiers and Washington Sundar having a good game for RCB!
KKR team 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders Squad 2018
Kolkata Knight Riders were ridiculed over their policy in the IPL 2018 Auction. They allowed or at least were unable to keep hold of Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey, and Yusuf Pathan despite these 3 being the main of success for the Kolkata Knight Riders Team 2018. KKR team 2018, however, did manage to sign the likes of Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Dinesh Karthik, and Mitchell Johnson for the IPL 2018.
KKR team 2018 were happy at the auction after they had signed Mitchell Starc for a whopping fee of INR 9.6 Cr, however, after suffering a stress fracture to his right foot, Starc has been ruled out of the IPL 2018. KKR squad 2018 were quick to announce Starc’s replacement by signing the young and promising England bowler Tom Curran.
Despite Curran’s arrival, it has been confirmed that Mitchell Johson will start the matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders squad 2018 and Curran will be his replacement. Another worrisome factor for the KKR squad 2018 is their inability to replace their top players if the injuries decide to be even more severe on them this season.
Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, and Dinesh Karthik hold the key for KKR squad 2018 in their batting department and we all know the injury rate of Lynn which makes the Kolkata Knight Riders team 2018 look very thin in terms of options from the bench. Having said that, any team should be written off if they are playing against Kohli’s RCB team 2018, but not the KKR team 2018 who possibly have the best top 6 batting order in the IPL 2018 and must feel confident of beating the RCB team in their opening game of IPL 2018.
RCB team 2018, Royal Challengers Bangalore Squad 2018
Over the years, Royal Challengers Bangalore squads were based around 2-3 players and their entire season depended on Kohli, ABD, and Chris Gayle. This policy did yield some great entertainment for the fans around the world but had very little success for the RCB team 2018 in general. Cut to the IPL 2018 auction, and we finally saw a change in approach from the RCB squad 2018. First of all, they decided to let Chris Gayle go and brought in Brendon McCullum, who is currently in a better run of form than the West Indian batsman. Then we saw RCB team 2018 do something which they had never done in the past, focus on signing quality bowlers.
Tim Southee, Washington Sundar, Chris Woakes, Mohd Siraj, Umesh Yadav were brought to support Yuzvendra Chahal in the IPL 2018 season for the RCB squad 2018. Corey Anderson, Colin de Grandhomme, and Moeen Ali were also signed to be the all-rounder lynchpin for the RCB team 2018. This is by far the best assembled Royal Challengers Bangalore team in ages and we can expect great things from the RCB team 2018 if they can sort out their best playing 11 and at least 3 more players who can take over the mantle even if Kohli or ABD or even both of them have a bad day.

KKR team 2018 is more or else sorted given their limited options and if they want to win games, their playing 11 has to remain intact for rest of the season. Indian Under-19 World Cup stars will add depth and options to the KKR playing 11 with Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkotti even expected to start in this match against RCB. KKR playing 11 today will go with Mitchell Johnson after the veteran’s fine performances in the Big Bash 2018 with Tom Curran providing the back-up. Andre Russell now becomes an even greater factor for the KKR as he is now the rapid fast bowling option KKR will need in Starc’s absence.
As for the RCB playing 11 today, their Indian core will be the strength they have sorely missed over the years. Washington Sundar becomes a key figure in the RCB playing 11 and could play the role Ravi Ashwin played for CSK when they dominated the IPL under MS Dhoni. Virat Kohli is a fast bowler’s captain but he needs to get the best out of Chahal and Sundar and the complete RCB playing 11 if he wants to take that next step and win the IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Virat Kohli to bat at No.3 slot for RCB in IPL 2018
Ahead of their season opener against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has said that he is all set to give up his opening slot and will bat at No. 3 in the IPL, a position he has made his own in the national team. Kohli’s decision makes sense considering the fact that RCB have multiple opening options in Brendon McCullum, Parthiv Patel, Quinton de Kock, Manan Vohra and Mandeep Singh.
“In the past, it was more or less that I had to. I quite enjoyed that role. Predominantly, I will start at number three, having specialists at that order and that I have done well for Indian team at no 3.”
“I’ve a good understanding of playing at that position (No 3) and gives the team a lot of stability. I see myself starting there but it depends on who we playing against. But we are going to be flexible, adapting to different conditions,” Kohli told reporters on the eve of their IPL opener at the Eden Gardens.
In his stint as an opener in the IPL, Kohli recorded 1,750 runs from 43 innings at an average of 53.03.
