ENGW vs AUSW Result

The England women’s team which started the tri-series with a bang and recorded comprehensive wins over India and Australia but they have gone off the rails a bit in their final two outings, albeit while playing with changed squads in both games. Skipper Heather Knight and her team will be hoping that they can shrug off the two losses and bounce back to clinch the final and lift the trophy at the end of it all.

Australia, on the other hand, have been in impeccable form ever since arriving in India as after whitewashing the hosts in the ODI leg, they have now won two back-to-back games in the T20 tri-series as well. Going into the final on Saturday, the Kangaroos will certainly have momentum on their side.

A close final is on the cards on Saturday (March 31) but out money will be on Australia to win the ENGW vs AUSW Final T20 and walk away with the trophy.

The ENGW vs AUSW Result will be updated after the end of this match.

Australia’s Megan Schutt was unaware of hat-trick against India in 4th T20I

It was the first ball of the 5th over of India’s innings in 4th T20I of the ongoing women’s tri-series when Megan Schutt pitched the ball short and got Deepti Sharma caught by Amanda Wellington at mid off. India lost their third wicket and the celebrations were rather sedate. Little did anyone in the Australian camp realize, definitely not Schutt, that she had become the first Australian woman to bag a hat-trick in any limited-overs internationals.

“I wasn’t even aware that I was on a hat-trick,” she admitted after the game. “Probably it’s a good thing.”

Schutt’s double-blow in the second over of the innings dented India’s chase big-time as she removed the in-form duo of Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj, both of whom had stroked half-centuries in the previous game against England.

There was a bit of a luck factor to go with both their dismissals, but neither Schutt nor her team were complaining. While Mandhana was yorked and had the ball roll on to the stumps after hitting her back leg, Mithali lazily inside edged a horizontal bat shot on to the stumps. The pacer knew she hadn’t earned the wicket the way she would’ve wanted, and even in the celebration, covered her face in embarrassment.
But ’embarrassment’ is not exactly what she likes to call it. “I can’t say that was my plan of attack.” – is how she preferred to define the feeling. “I had to adapt to the plan and conditions, and somehow they hit the stumps. I’m happy with that.”
