- David Warner may never play International cricket for Australia following the 12-months ban sanctioned by Cricket Australia
- Warner is not allowed to play any form of domestic cricket in Australia as well
David Warner may have played his last game for Australia after Cricket Australia banned the 31-year-old batsman from all forms of Australian cricket for next 12 months. In last 48 hours, the entire ball tampering saga has been made to look as “David Warner ball tampering” incident with Cricket Australia blaming Warner as the architect of the entire episode and blamed him for first teaching and then convincing Cameron Bancroft of committing the cynical action on Day 3 of the 3rd test match against South Africa. With such harsh allegations against him, Warner is also contemplating a retirement from International cricket and could play in domestic T20 leagues around the world.
David Warner banned from IPL 2018
After Cricket Australia’s harsh stance on the explosive opener, David Warner IPL 2018 campaign has come to an end after Sunrisers Hyderabad were told that Warner will not be part of IPL 2018. Following that Sunrisers have named Kane Williamson as the new SRH captain for the IPL 2018 season. David Warner ball tampering scandal could force the left-handed batsman to go out and play in domestic T20 leagues outside Australia.
According to Cricket Australia’s verdict David Warner, Steve Smith, and Cameron Bancroft have been barred from playing for their states in the Sheffield Shield during the 12-month ban and cannot play in the next edition of Australia’s Big Bash League as well. The verdict has forced Warner’s hands into playing in foreign T20 leagues like Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL), Carribean Premier League (CPL) and even in Hongkong T20 Blitz. All of these leagues start in the latter part of 2018 with Warner certain to dominate the headlines and the auction for all the teams in T20 leagues around the world.
Warner’s teammates and Cricket Australia have turned against him
A major reason for the angst against Warner from his own board is his involvement in the salary hike discussion last year which has left Warner with very little friends at Cricket Australia. All of the blame has been pinned down on Warner and despite his silence on the matter so far, one feels Warner’s comments (whenever he speaks) will open further pandora boxes in near future.
Warner has reportedly left Australian team’s WhatsApp group after his own teammates have turned against him after the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Patt Cummins are furious with David Warner ball tampering scandal which has now put their legacy and ability to reverse swing the ball in serious question. It has been reported that Warner has gone rogue since the entire ball tampering outrage and is highly unlikely to play for Australia in the future.
