• Dwayne Bravo is excited to be back playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
  • Bravo reckons CSK is more than just a team, it’s like a family
  • Bravo rejoins the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Faf Du Plessis for the IPL 2018

In today’s Cricket Latest News, Dwayne Bravo has expressed his delight at coming back to CSK Team 2018 ahead of the IPL 2018. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were not part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for last 2 years and Bravo has revealed how he was praying to team up with CSK 2018 side as the men in yellow make their Indian Premier League return.

Chennai Super Kings not a team, it’s a family: says Dwayne Bravo

Dwyane Bravo was hopeful of teaming up with CSK for the upcoming IPL season despite turning 34-years old. Despite his age, CSK management decided to put their faith Bravo and sign him at the IPL 2018 auction. Chennai Super Kings also decided to bring their former stars MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravi Jadeja, and Faf Du Plessis which further proves Bravo’s point of CSK team being more than just an IPL franchise, rather it is like a family.

Speaking at a CSK event meeting, Bravo said, as reported by Cricbuzz, “Coming to back to Chennai is like homecoming for me. We missed it in the last two years. I was really hoping and praying (during auction) that I come back to Chennai. I’m thankful to the management for showing a lot of faith in me. I didn’t play any cricket after the Big Bash and was resting.”

Bravo has not played any cricket since the Big Bash 2018 and was looking to prepare himself mentally and physically for the upcoming IPL season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Bravo will be vital for Chennai’s plan for the next IPL season as he will be their main bowler in the death overs.

Dwayne Bravo IPL 2018 and CSK 2018 plans

At the age of 34, Bravo might not necessarily be part of the CSK set up for long and if he and the other veterans of Chennai Super Kings want to win their 3rd IPL title, they need to do it sooner rather than later as time is not on their side. CSK Team 2018 looks good on paper but somehow it feels a lot more like an emotionally put side instead of a well-thought drill.

It might turn out to be very nice for the boys in yellow or it could go very bad as likes of Dhoni, Bravo, Imran Tahir, and others are approaching their twilight phases of the career and it might backfire Chennai’s decision to rely on the stars who were part of their setup about 3 seasons ago.
