Suresh Raina should bat at No. 6 in ODIs for India, says Harsha Bhogle

Suresh Raina made a successful return to the Indian cricket team with impressive outings in the T20I series which India won 2-1 with Raina playing a key part in all the games for Team India. Raina’s return to the side has come as a good news for his fans after the left-hander failed to complete theĀ YoYo test and was left out of the Indian side. And Harsha Bhogle says that Suresh Raina should bat at No. 6 for India ODI team.

Suresh Raina to make his ODI comeback for India?

Cricket expert Harsha Bhogle is also delighted to see a much fitter Raina in action as Bhogle believes it could solve India’s middle order crisis. Despite an amazing run in the limited overs cricket, India’s middle order is yet to win them a crucial and tight match if Virat Kohli has failed to score runs.

Bhogle believes, Raina should be the ideal choice to bat at number 6 as he is a left-hander with an ability to change the game on its head. Raina was selected for the South Africa tour after passing the YoYo test and it was a delight to see Raina be the livewire for Indian fielding side which we have seen over the last decade or so.

Apart from scoring 98 runs in the 3-match T20I series, Raina bowled in the crucial stage of the 3rd match and picked up the vital wicket of David Miller to turn the game and the series in India’s favor. Unsurprisingly, Raina was named Man of the Match in the deciding game of the series to further justify his selection to the national side.

Harsha Bhogle feels this is Suresh Raina’s revival

Harsha Bhogle believes we are seeing Raina’s revival and having worked on his fitness, now it is up to him to set new targets to achieve in next 12 months and a consistent performance in Nidahas Trophy and IPL could go a long way in ensuring Raina cements a place in the Indian ODI setup which would only be a greatĀ thing for India’s World Cup hopes next year.
