Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) had only retained one player – Axar Patel (INR 12.5 crore) ahead of the IPL 2018 auction, and were one of the busiest teams at the IPL 2018 auction which had taken place in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28. The Preity Zinta co-owned Kings XI spent almost their full quota of INR 80 crores, bagging 21 players in total, including their brand new franchise captain Ravichandran Ashwin.
Kings XI Punjab have not won a single Indian Premier League championship title in a decade-full of IPL seasons so far (2008-2017), and will be eyeing their maiden IPL title glory, which is why they are making bold moves ahead of the kickoff of the IPL 2018 season, which is scheduled for April 7.
