Having missed out on the knock-out stage by a whisker in the previous two seasons, Lahore Qalandars are hoping to go all the way in the third season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2018). The Brendon McCullum led team will take on Karachi Kings at the Dubai International Stadium on 26th February (Monday). Karachi who have been knocked out in the eliminator in both the previous seasons opened the 3rd season with a 19 run victory over the high-flying Quetta Gladiators. The Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars fixture clearly calls for a detailed preview, key stats, and predicted XI line-ups of both the teams.
In Colin Ingram, Babar Azam and Ravi Bopara the Karachi Kings have a very strong batting line-up consisting of players who have scored a ton of runs in the previous two seasons. However, the same can’t be said about the Qalandars, who began the tournament with some very depressing news as power-hitter Chris Lynn was ruled out for the whole tournament following an injury to the right shoulder.
Although their batting might appear weak on paper, there is no doubt that the Qalander’s have a strong bowling unit comprising of Sunil Narine, Mustafizur Rahman and Yasir Shah. The match result could just hinge on the battle between the Qalandar’s bowling contingent and the Kings batting unit.
