IPL 2018: Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes step-up preparation for Rajasthan Royals

With the 11th season of the Indian Premier League approaching, England cricketers and Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2018 additions, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, are looking to reignite their old fiery partnership, which seems to have been rusted due to Stokes’ absence from England cricket for a while. After not being able to play cricket since September 2017, Stokes rejoined his teammates in New Zealand recently for the upcoming ODI series between England and New Zealand.

Owing to a controversial brawl-incident from last year, the 26-year-old Ben Stokes couldn’t play any role in the recently concluded winter’s Ashes series, which Australia clinched by 4-0. However, after pleading ‘not guilty’ to the charges of affray at Bristol Magistrates’ Court earlier in the month, the regular England vice-captain is back in the fore, with Jos Buttler looking to rekindle the dio’s batting partnership, ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2018).

Rajasthan Royals will see Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes return to the fold

Jos Buttler, who will join Ben Stokes at Rajasthan Royals in April for IPL 2018, said that the ‘phenomenal’ all-rounder has fitted in well upon his return to the England cricket team, and is looking forward to taking the stage by storm along with Jos Buttler. In a column for Sky Sports, the wicketkeeper-batsman said,

“Ben Stokes is back with us – it had a back-at-school feel when he trained with us for the first time having been away for a bit!”

“He is excited, has fitted in well, and it’s like he’s never been away. He brings so much to the group on and off the field and is fantastic to bat with. He takes a lot of pressure off you with the things he is capable off, so hopefully I can have some good partnerships with him, not just for England but also in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals.”

“He’s a phenomenal talent and you probably have the best seat in the house when you’re batting with him.”
