Chris Lynn’s cricket career has been full of rotten injuries, and it seems that the Australian batsman’s bad run is continuing, with the power-hitter hurting his shoulder and wrist in Auckland today (21 February).
Lynn had dived for the ball and landed awkwardly on his right hand. While it was evident that the 27-year-old was pain as he held his right hand’s wrist in pain, it is being reported that the injury has to do with the batsman’s seemingly cursed shoulder as well.
Lynn was surrounded by team physios and trainers while he left the Eden Park in Auckland during New Zealand’s innings. Cricket Australia posted the development on their Twitter handle, and wrote, “Chris Lynn leaves field with shoulder injury after diving attempt in tri-series final.
The 27-year-old had his left shoulder reconstructed last year and has also struggled with calf and hamstring issues. Here is to hoping that Chris Lynn recovers from the injury soon, as it would not just affect the Australia v New Zealand T20 final, but also the Aussie batsman’s IPL 2018 campaign for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Coming off from a previous injury, Chris Lynn had said earlier, “These last four games that I’ve played, my confidence has gone through the roof with my physical preparation and intensity out on the field. Now every game, I’m getting less apprehensive and more confident.”
Probable substitutions for IPL 2018, KKR
If Chris Lynn somehow is not able to recover soon in time for his appearance in Indian Premier League’s 11th edition (IPL 2018) for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the Shahrukh Khan-owned franchise could have no other option but to go for replacements. Probable substitutions for the Australia power-hitter include – Hashim Amla, Martin Guptill, Eoin Morgan, Alex Hales.
