Sachin Tendulkar named Mumbai T20 League’s ambassador

World cricket legend and India’s ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar has been named the brand ambassador of the upcoming Mumbai T20 League. And Tendulkar is more than happy to be serving the cause as he feels that the T20 league will provide an excellent and easily accessible platform for the talented cricketers of the metropolitan city, Mumbai.

Sachin Tendulkar was quoted as saying in a media release, as reported by Mid-day,

“It’s always a pleasure to be associated with the Mumbai Cricket Association. The T20 Mumbai League will not only entertain cricket fans, but also provide a great platform to the talented young cricketers in Mumbai.”

The Mumbai Twenty20 league, which is scheduled to be held from 11 to 28 March, is to be organised by Sports India Pvt Ltd, a consortium of IIFL Group. And the Mumbai T20 league, which has taken birth in order to give easy access to cricket at the grassroot level, in a city from where numerous cricketing stalwarts have emerged, had been approved and sanctioned by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

As the Mumbai T20 League is kick started to bring in as much local talent as possible, a total of six teams are to enrol and participate in the Twenty20 League. The Mumbai Twenty20 league teams will be from – Mumbai North, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central and Mumbai South.
