Real Madrid v PSG: Gareth Bale is worth €222 million like Neymar, says his agent

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has started the war of words ahead Real Madrid’s round of 16 clash against PSG claiming that Gareth Bale is also worth €222 million like PSG’s summer signing Neymar.

While speaking with Marca, Barnett said: “He’s (Bale) worth at least the €222 million paid for Neymar. Gareth is very happy with Real Madrid. He loves Madrid.”

Neymar became world’s most expensive signing after PSG signed him from Barcelona and has left Bale behind in the chase to become the best player in the world. However, agent Barnett has defended his client’s unfortunate injury record and vowed for his return to form for Los Blancos.

Bale has been a key figure for Real Madrid since he has come back to the side and manager Zinedine Zidane opted to give him a rest over the weekend ahead of Real Madrid’s visit to PSG’ home, the Parc des Princes.

It has often been cited that Bale’s progression and happiness at the club has often been curtailed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence, however, Bale’s agent has quashed such rumours and believed Bale and Ronaldo can co-exist and achieve great things for Real Madrid.

Barnett said: “Gareth (Bale) doesn’t need Cristiano Ronaldo to leave. Bale is already a star at Real Madrid.”

PSG will be Real Madrid’s biggest test in UEFA Champions League

Traveling to Parc des Princes will be a tough challenge for Zinedine Zidane’s side after their domestic struggles this season as PSG have been one of the most in-form sides in European football, and are looking in a very promising situation for the 1st leg fixture of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League 2017/18.

There have been suggestions that Zidane’s future could depend on his UEFA Champions League performance this season and going past PSG will be his first and perhaps the biggest test so far this season. Likes of Bale and Ronaldo will need to be on top of their game if Real Madrid hope to take anything from the tie.
