New Manchester United signing recalled on his time with Barcelona and revealed that Lionel Messi cried in the dressing room after being knocked out by Chelsea in the 2011/12 season. A late goal from Fernando Torres helped Chelsea qualify on the away goal rule.

The result was hard to digest for all the Barcelona players and Messi could not hold on to his tears and Alexis appreciates and relates to the players who show their emotions on and off the pitch.

As reported by Marca, Alexis Sanchez explained the incident and said,

“You may cry during a game if you lose a final, it is part of football. In the Barcelona dressing room after the game against Chelsea I saw Leo cry, that happened because players demand a lot of themselves and it is something that the fans don’t see.”

Alexis Sanchez has been in the news after his controversial switch from Arsenal to Manchester United where many have described his move as money-hunting motive while many have questioned his decision to join Manchester United when The Red Devils have been struggling to regain their lost form and glory.

However, explaining his decision to quit Arsenal for Manchester United, Alexis Sanchez said,

“I wanted to grow and learn and have a new experience with another club. It is a very big club with an international outlook that can win everything.”
