Adelaide Strikers are set to welcome back Alex Carey while D’Arcy Short will return for Hobart Hurricanes for the Big Bash 2017-18 final after the duo were released from Australia’s national team duty. Carey and Short played the 1st T20 game vs New Zealand and will once again join with Australian squad after featuring in the Big Bash 2017-18 final.

Apart from Travis Head and Alex Carey’s inclusion, one major setback for the Strikers is Rashid Khan’s departure courtesy of his international commitments. Strikers knew from the beginning that Rashid was always due to miss the Big Bash 2017-18 final.
In Rashid’s absence, Liam O’Connor has been included in the squad and will play his first BBL game of the season. Nick Winter continues to be in the squad while Billy Stanleke was not given the permission to team up with Striker for the BBL final.

Hobart Hurricanes will also enjoy their share of D’Archy Short’s return after the flamboyant opener made his senior debut on Saturday. One major team news is the continued exclusion of pacer Tymal Mills who has struggled to find form this season.
With Short returning in the starting XI for Hobart, Mathew Wade could drop down the batting order after the Aussies opener scored a quick fire innings in the semi-final. Jofra Archer and Cameron Boyce will be Hobart’s key strike bowlers with Dan Christian and Cameron Boyce playing the supporting role.
