Sourav Ganguly tips India to win the Under-19 World Cup final

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is upbeat about India’s chances at the ICC U19 World Cup final against Australia after crushing Pakistan by 203 runs in the Semi Final. India have been the most superior team in the competition where they have beaten the sides by a margin of either 10 wickets or more than 100 runs.

India have looked a class apart from all the teams and have the best batting and bowling attack among the teams at the ICC U19 World Cup. Likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubhman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Shivam Mavi have led the way for India and will be required to perform in one more game and bring home the ICC U19 World Cup title.

Sourav Ganguly hinted at India’s progression in the competition and claimed that Australia will pose a stiff challenge but India’s batting and bowling has been more than capable of winning the ICC U19 World Cup final.

As reported by News18, Sourav Ganguly said: U-19 team is playing very well. There are immensely talented boys like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Ishan Porel are players who have come up from the BCCI system.”

Sourav Ganguly was thrilled with the young players who have broken on the scene in recent months and it gives the Indian team a strong opportunity to dominate the world cricket for many years to come, especially the ICC U19 World Cup. Ganguly praised the support that several cricket boards have given to the young players and has vowed to support both Ishan Porel and Kanishk Seth who play for Bengal.

Sourav Ganguly said: “You can’t make players without structure. They are product of our system. In the next five years, barring Australia and England, Indian cricket will be the best in the world.

“U19 is just the beginning, the stepping stone of one’s career. He has a long way to go. Porel stays in Bali. We from CAB will provide him with all help.”
