Rajasthan Royals 2018 Team, Rajasthan Royals Playing 11, Rajasthan Royals Probable 11, RR Probable 11

Rajasthan Royals have often been tipped as the ‘Moneyball’ team of the Indian Premier League, where they scout young players and sign them for a lesser fee to build their squad. However, the returning franchise surprised everyone by signing Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat for a combined fee of INR 24 Crore, while retaining Australia captain Steve Smith early on who will now be missing from Rajasthan Royals team 2018. We shall look at the complete preview for Rajasthan Royals Team 2018: Live Score RR Team 2018, RR News 2018, RR Team 2018, RR Playing 11, RR Probable 11, Rajasthan Royals Schedule for IPL 2018 Rajasthan Royals’ official IPL 2018 anthem and Rajasthan Royals Jersey.

Rajasthan Royals had decided to retain Steve Smith before the auction and after bringing in the likes of Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, D’Arcy Short, Jofra Archer, and Jos Buttler hopes are high from their fans of a successful IPL 2018 campaign.

Rajasthan Royals Team 2018: RR Playing 11

Here is the RR Playing 11 or RR Probable 11, which will see some of the currently best batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders of world cricket, don the Rajasthan Royals jersey;

Ajinkya Rahane (C), D’Arcy Short, Sanju Samson (WK), Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer, Gowtham Krishnappa, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni

Rajasthan Royals Team 2018, Openers – Ajinkya Rahane and D’Arcy Short

The team from Rajasthan did very well in securing the services of their long-time servant Rahane and the current hotshot opener D’Arcy Short, who was in terrific form for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. These two will surely be creating some scintillating performances which would make for exciting RR news 2018. Rajasthan Royals will be hoping that the money spent in the IPL auction can help them win their 1st IPL title since the inaugural season. With Shane Warne mentoring the Rajasthan Royals this season, the team will hoping that the legendary Australian spinner can bring them luck. Rajasthan Royals Playing 11 will be a tough place to get in, once your on the bench, hence Short will be under pressure to live up to the hype or he could very well find himself on the bench.

Rajasthan Royals Team 2018, Middle Order – Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathy

Perhaps the most fearful number 3, 4, and 5 in this year’s IPL will see Smith, Stokes, and Buttler follow the innings from Rahane and Samson. Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes had a very successful IPL 2017 and they would hope to continue the momentum this year as well. In Buttler, Rajasthan Royals have one of the best finishers in the IPL which can help the team finish with a flourish. Team’s will not be too pleased to be facing Rajasthan Royals this season, given the T20 specialist they have in the squad.

Rajasthan Royals Team 2018, Bowlers – Dhawal Kulkarni, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Gowtham

Spending INR 11.5 Cr on Jaydev Unadkat has indeed put both the RR team 2018, and Unadkat, to do well this year but the left arm pace will be quietly confident after picking 24 wickets in the IPL 2017. Jofra Archer has been drafted into bowl in the death overs after the West Indian born bowler had a very good Big Bash T20 competition in Australia. Now the lethal pacer will be wearing the Rajasthan Royals jersey in IPL 2018.

Rajasthan Royals Captain for IPL 2018 – Ajinkya Rahane

Rajasthan Royals retained just one player for the IPL 2018 and it was their former player Steve Smith. However, after the Australian ball tampering controversy, Smith was banned from this year’s IPL and Rajasthan Royals were sent into chaos as they had build the whole team around the former Australian captain. Ajinkya Rahane, who burst onto the scene with Rajasthan Royals will take over the captaincy now and given his cool and calm approach, the Indian opener could turn out to be a perfect candidate for the team.

Rajasthan Royals Coach for IPL 2018 – Shane Warne

Although the RR 2018 team management is yet to announce the name of a new coach but reports have been circulating for quite some time now of Shane Warne’s return to the RR setup as their new coach. Warne was Rajasthan’s captain in the inaugural season of the IPL and led them to the title. With Warne returning and Smith in command, Rajasthan Royals team 2018 will be a menacing opposition for many IPL teams this season.

Key Players for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018 – Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, Jaydev Unadkat

Ben Stokes – Perhaps the best all-rounder in world cricket right now Ben Stokes is a match-winner with both bat and ball in his own rights. Stokes was IPL’s MVP last season and despite his lengthy absence from the International Cricket, Stokes will be a key player for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018.

Ajinkya Rahane – Rahane burst onto to the scene with some scintillating performances for Rajasthan Royals and with Steve Smith missing this season, the pressure will again be on the 29-year-old to produce the goods for his team from the top. His captaincy will be put under some serious test this season but with experienced international stars around him and Shane Warne mentoring the Rajasthan Royals, he should have enough good voices around him.

Jaydev Unadkat – When a team spends big bucks on a player the expectation tends to soar through the roof and ends up putting that player under immense pressure. However, Unadkat’s past PL experience will allow him to cope up with that pressure and a strong bowling unit around him, we will see this left-arm pacer be one of the key players for Rajasthan Royals at IPL 2018.

RR Team 2018: Predictions for IPL 2018

On the face of it, Rajasthan Royals were expecting an entirely new set of players to take part in the IPL 2018 wearing the Rajasthan Royals jersey, however, the team management ended up putting together the core team of Rising Pune Supergiants from last year. RR 2018 team will have some big names in it this season but the other teams have strengthened also very well, which why the road to the play-offs could turn out to be more difficult than expected.

Ideally, Rajasthan would have liked to announce their coach by now but with Shane Warne’s continued rumours the team is waiting to see how it plays out. One weakness this team has is the lack of a world-class spinner which again has become a mandate if teams want to win the IPL in recent years.

Another factor which could hinder RR team 2018 chances at this year’s IPL is Ben Stokes’ absence from competitive cricket following his nightclub brawl and suspension from the game. I do not see them winning the competition but qualification to the playoffs will be the minimum expectation from the RR Playing 11.
