Fresh from the disappointment of missing out on the Indian Premier League (IPL) contract, England’s fast bowler Tymal Mills has been drafted in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and will play for the Karachi Kings.
Tymal Mills was the second costliest signing from the last year’s IPL auction due to his rapid pace and unplayable slow deliveries. However, the pitch at Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy Stadium did not suit Tymal Mills, and he was taken for plenty of runs.
Tymal Mills had a very high economy rate and given his unusual injury issues, IPL sides were not ready to take a gamble on him and the fast bowler went unsold at the IPL 2018 Auction.
Tymal Mills replaces Mitchell Johnson in Karachi Kings
Tymal Mills has been signed by the Karachi Kings as a replacement for Mitchell Johnson who has been recently signed by the IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders. Following his IPL contract, Mitchell Johnson decided to opt out of PSL and focus solely on the Indian Premier League.
Tymal Mills was not the only replacement Karachi Kings had to bring in after English cricketer Luke Wright decided to quit on his time in the Pakistan Premier League. Wright was replaced by another Englishman Joe Denly after impressing in the ongoing Big Bash League.
Luke Wright confirmed his exit earlier in the month after he announced that he won’t be playing any further part for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Karachi Kings franchise is hopeful of a strong display in the Pakistan Super League starting next month where six teams will be competing against each other.
