Algerian forward Islam Slimani has been linked with a move away from Leicester City. Reports in the French media suggest the 29-year-old could be on his way to AS Monaco, but it remains to be seen if an agreement could be reached this month.
According to L’Equipe on Thursday, AS Monaco are keen on signing Slimani on loan. Leicester, however, want €20m for the player who has a contract until the summer of 2021.
L’Equipe reckon it’s a bit unlikely AS Monaco would want to spend €20m for a player who would be 30 soon. The French giants are about to lose Guido Carrillo to Southampton soon in a €22m deal and could look to sign a replacement in January.
Leicester, however, could expect offers for Slimani in the closing days of the transfer window. The Algerian star has managed just a couple of starts in the Premier League this season and is reportedly surplus to requirements at the King Power Stadium.
Guido Carrillo wasn’t a regular at AS Monaco and the Ligue 1 club certainly could wait until the summer when it could be easier to recruit players.
