All-rounder Chris Woakes is keen to take the revenge for England’s 4-0 Ashes defeat and complete a 5-0 whitewash during the ongoing ODI series against Australia. England lead 3-0 have already won the series but Woakes and Co. are determined to complete the ODI series whitewash against their arch-rivals.

Woakes claimed that the team is still hurting from their Ashes defeat and are keen to seek revenge. England have found their form after the likes of Alex Hales, Jason Roy, and Eoin Morgan have joined the team and the instant impact has left the home side shocked.

Continuing on the whitewash theme, Woakes is planning to beat the Kangaroos on Australia Day and pile on their misery. Woakes said: “The 5-0 whitewash is a huge motivation,” said Chris Woakes, after his stunning half-century not-out in Sydney.

“We won’t be letting up. We’ll go out there on a big day for them, Australia Day, and turn them over.”

“To win a series out here is a difficult thing to do, so that is a real motivator and our guys will look forward to doing that.”

“We want to make sure we do win 5-0 and not let up or cruise and lose the final two games so it doesn’t look as good. You don’t come out to Australia and win too often, so, once you’ve got your foot on their throat, you want to keep it down.”

“Trevor and Morgy have mentioned it. We had some discussions in the changing room and the end of the chat was very much about making sure that we’re on it, come Friday afternoon.”

“If the roles were reversed, Australia would be doing exactly the same thing to us.”

Woakes along with all England and Australian stars will be keenly following the IPL auction later this week and know their fates as the Indian Premier League draws closer. IPL season 11 kicks off on April 7 with teams looking to complete their squad during the upcoming auction on 27th and 28th January.
